The Oregon Coast
29 June 2019
Probably one of my favorite places is the Oregon Coast. It’s kind of magical, and if you’ve never been, I highly recommend it. So when I was making plans with Keith and he wanted to know what I wanted to do during my weekend visit, this was the first thing I mentioned.
So this morning, my good friends Keith, Jessica, and I set out for an early breakfast of German pancakes and caffeine before heading out to the coast. Our destination, Canon Beach. It’s one of the more crowded/touristy beaches, but it’s also the easiest one to get to. Plus it has the Haystack Rocks. And it was featured in the opening of the Goonies!
We spent time walking around, flying kites, wading in the tide pools, having a fish & chip lunch, and buying unnecessary store-made salt water taffy. It was a brilliant afternoon. And it didn’t end there! We finished up in Canon Beach, and drove down the coast to Tillamook to visit the Cheese Factory. Which apparently is now called The Creamery? It’s gotten much bigger since I was last there, but still just as delicious.
